Minibus Drivers
Are you ready to embark on a rewarding journey where you can make a genuine positive impact on the lives of others?
As a Volunteer Minibus Driver or Outings Assistant you’ll play a vital role in providing essential trips out to residents in Chichester.
By joining our team of dedicated volunteers, you’ll enable our buses to be on the road more frequently, ensuring that our clients have the independence they deserve.
Responsibilities
As a Minibus Driver, your responsibilities will include:
- Safely driving passengers using one of our 2 specially adapted Peugeot Boxer minibuses.
- Displaying empathy and understanding when assisting elderly and disabled individuals.
- Receiving comprehensive training on the use of lifts and safety restraints in our vehicles.
- Following established procedures to ensure the comfort and safety of all passengers under your care.

Requirements
To be considered for this opportunity, you’ll need to meet the following requirements:
- Hold a B1 or D1 category on your licence.
- Maintain a clean driving record, free from criminal or reckless offences.
- Complete a driving assessment provided by Contact 88, which will be repeated every three years.
- Provide a recent sight test assessment.
Outings Assistants
Age is no barrier but a degree of physical fitness is required as you are assisting passengers on outings and shopping trips.
